The encounter with Mini Velliama will always be special, Dr. SG Suryah, Founder of NaMo Vasavi Foundation came across Velliamma while organizing a relief material drive in the Narikuravar hamlet of Velcahery, where she expressed her immediate need for medical attention, as she was suffering from a poorly treated hand fracture and also pointing out her financial disadvantage. In the following week a doctors appointment was arranged at Cadence hospital which led to her hand being x-rayed, and scanned to identify the cause of prolonged pain. The diagnosis revealed a complicated situation requiring immediate surgery, as per the advice of experienced doctors, Velliamma was admitted for surgery at Cadence Hospital. The surgery was a complete success. Dr. SG Suryah paid her a visit post surgery to make sure she was recovering in a healthy manner, a few days later Velliamma was discharged after she had fully recovered from the surgery.
